    Photo Requirements

There are three factors that are useful in determining the size and quality of your ThinTwin

    • File format – your file must be submitted in a format that we can process

    • Resolution – your file must be a minimum of 3 megapixels or 2048 x 1536 resolution

    • Subject framing – the more space that your subject takes up in the photo, the better

    Acceptable Image Formats

    • .jpg
    • .jpeg
    • .png
    • .tiff

    Quality of the Image

In general, you should set your camera to the highest resolution possible for the best results. The better the image we receive, the larger we can produce it without losing the crispness of the original. Based on our experience, images with 72dpi (or dots per inch) are suitable for 48” images and smaller. For orders above 48” we require an original image minimum of 300dpi. Our testing indicates that below these resolutions the images tend to blur or become pixilated.

The following chart is provided as a helpful guideline for the quality level you can expect based on the picture resolution and desired ThinTwin size:

    Subject Framing and Photo Taking

The following tips and suggestions will assist you in taking a ThinTwin worthy photo:

    • Use the highest resolution your camera allows

    • Fill as much of the frame with your subject as possible. We suggest a minimum of 50% of the shot. The tighter you get on the subject, the better your ThinTwin will turn out.

    • Steady shots work best. Blurring tends to be magnified as the image is enlarged. Have a steady hand or say hello to Mr. Tripod.
